Mission Statement

We are the original people of this land, descendants of sovereign Denesuline, Ininew, Anishinaabe and Anishininew. This land is our inheritance and it is our grandmothers and grandfathers that entered into Treaty with the Queen. Our ancestors signed Treaty with the spirit and intent that the original ways would remain, thrive and be enriched by our relationship with Canada and their people. And with all the wealth our land has generated we should be wealthy people, wealth that will be passed down to each generation to come. The Summit of Treaty Five Sovereign Nations is a declaration that we remember and reclaim our sovereignty. The Summit of Treaty Five Sovereign Nations is our declaration to Canada that the 40 Nations are united. Our ultimate goal is to carve out our own lane and create opportunities for our people where the original ways prevail, and prosperity replaces generational pain and poverty. The Denesuline, Ininew, Anishinaabe and Anishininew people have been sovereign since time immemorial, we are the heart of this land and we want what is rightfully ours.
